An important principle of MSDI is that the region’s future be charted by a diverse alliance of people, organizations, and communities interested in and committed to a Culture of Possibilities in the Delta. These networks of people that comprise MSDI have recommended that the Delta needs a place or “Center” to be the home of the long-term transformation work happening in the Delta. The Center for Creating Change will connect organizations and leverage their strengths to advance the goals of a vibrant Delta in a way that individual organizations have not yet been equipped to do. Also included will be the creation of an environment for a community of learning that emphasizes transformation, listening, staying open to diverse opinions and ideas, and learning from others.
The Center can be a home for sustained leadership development to create a vibrant leadership culture in the Delta. The Center concept will be developed in 2008 by a team of Delta people with support from MSDI. We expect that it will connect to strong work underway across the region and nation.
