Arkansas Youth Design Work Group
The purpose of the Youth Design Work Group is to engage youth as full partners in the change work of the Delta. During the January Arkansas Youth meeting, the group painted a picture of the current reality and preferred future in the Delta using pictures and stories. They discussed the great potential for the region and how youth can play a major role in helping design a brighter future. One of the groups’ current assignments is to tell the story of the Delta through photographs, producing a series of photo essays on life in the Arkansas Delta that illustrates the assets and challenges of the region. Selections from these photo essays will be shown on the MSDI website. Also, the Arkansas Youth Group recently recruited three new members to increase diversity. Each of the Work Groups has protected Work Spaces to organize their working notes, research and preliminary documents. Groups can store documents in these password-protected areas.
