Louisiana Youth Design Work Group
The purpose of the Youth Design Work Group is to engage youth as full partners in the change work of the Delta. The Louisiana Youth Design Work Group recently completed a multi-faceted team building weekend which brought the individuals together and made them see their work from a different perspective. With activities such as a ropes course and a giant maze, the participants realized that the simulation activities mimicked situations in their own communities and strengthened their resolve to stop old habits that prevent new solutions.
The group has also developed a website that will allow the different Louisiana groups to post and retrieve valuable information on the work done in their communities and created a database of community organizations as a resource for all the Louisiana groups. Members of the Louisiana Youth Design Group include:
Each of the Work Groups has protected Work Spaces to organize their working notes, research and preliminary documents. Groups can store documents in these password-protected areas. If you are a member, you can get your passwords from the regional facilitator. If you have further questions call Emily Medlock at Ken Hubbell & Associates in Little Rock: 501-372-1716 or email us at info@msdi.org.
